If you are looking for a place to celebrate Easter this year, you are invited to join us at Lawrence Free Methodist Church! Our church is located at 3001 Lawrence Avenue (map). On Easter Sunday, April 20, we will hold two identical worship services at 9:00 and 10:35 a.m. There will be programs for preschool through 4th grade at 9:00 a.m., and preschool through 6th grade at 10:35 a.m. (teens will meet with the adults in the main worship center). Come and worship with us! The music will be a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, and there will be Easter egg hunts following each service on the church lawn for children age 2 through 4th grade.
Good Friday Tenebrae Service
On Good Friday (April 18, 7:00 p.m.), we will come together for a tenebrae service (service of diminishing light) to commemorate the sacrificial death of Jesus and to be reminded of the tremendous price that was paid to rescue us from sin and death. Through Scripture readings and reflective music, this service helps us to revisit the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus, and helps to prepare us for the glad celebration that will follow on Easter Sunday.
