Who are the others that these 4s are for?
This year your participation will benefit one local and one international cause:
Local: Lawrence Habitat for Humanity -- lawrencehabitat.org
Lawrence Habitat for Humanity puts God's love into action by bringing together people to build homes, communities and hope. Their focus is to create opportunities for all people to live in a decent and sturdy shelter. 4 for Others will help Lawrence Habitat raise money for its 84th home.
International: Kids Alive Haiti -- www.kidsalive.org
Kids Alive reflects the love of Christ by rescuing orphans and vulnerable children around the world, nurturing them with quality holistic care and sharing with them the transforming power of Christ so they are enabled to give hope to others. Their work in Haiti provides residential children's homes for nearly 90 children, many of whom were orphaned in the 2010 earthquake. In addition, they provide education, food, clothing and basic medical care to nearly 50 neighborhood children. 4 for Others will provide funds to finish construction on the fourth home in the Kids Alive Children's Village.
The 4-mile and 1.4-mile runs will follow a path through beautiful wooded areas and a quiet neighborhood.
