This year your participation will benefit one local and one international cause:
Local: L.I.N.K. - Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen • www.linklawrence.org
LINK has been in existence since 1985 providing nutritious home-cooked meals to families and individuals in our community at no cost to them and with no questions asked. A growing number of families with young children are coming to LINK. LINK has no regular funding sources so they depend on the generous donations of individuals, churches, organizations and businesses in our community.
International: Pioneers www.pioneers.org
Kelly and Darrin Monroe have attended the Lawrence Free Methodist Church for many years. In recent years, they’ve felt God calling them to be cross-cultural missionaries and have taken many steps to confirm that call. In January 2013 they accepted a position with Pioneers, a mission agency that mobilizes teams to glorify God among people groups around the world who haven’t heard of Jesus. They partner with local churches to plant new churches in those areas. Your participation in this race will help the Monroes get abroad so they can do what God has called them to do.
The 4-mile and 1.4-mile runs will follow a path through beautiful wooded areas and a quiet neighborhood.
4-mile race: $25 by May 24, $35 after May 24 1.4-mile fun run/walk: $12 1/4-mile kid run: Free. (T-shirt and pancake feed available for kids for $8.)
