Christmas Impact Offering 2018

During the Advent season, our church is going to participate in a special Christmas Impact Offering. We all know Christmas is a special time for giving, and we invite you to make Jesus the priority in your gift-giving by considering a special gift over and above what you normally give to Him. This offering will help us to continue to be the light He wants us to be in our community.

Christmas Impact is a call to sacrificial giving with a goal of $15,000 in five ministry initiatives:

Family Promise - $5,000

We love our partnership with Family Promise and want to continue to find unique ways to support this ministry. These monies will assist families with their rent as they transition from homelessness to independent living.

Heartland Community Health Center- $2,500

The mission of Heartland Community Health Center is to serve as a welcoming health center to transform the health and lives of all in need through the love of Jesus Christ. These monies will stock their food pantry for one month, as well as provide utility assistance to 15 families for one month.

L.I.N.K - $2,500

The purpose of the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen is to provide home-cooked, nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment for local families and individuals at no cost. These monies will help them to purchase a new stove and provide additional groceries to cover days that are not currently provided for.

Gideons International - $2,500

The Gideons are a group of people dedicated to telling others about Jesus. This gift will assist the organization in providing Bibles and New Testaments to hotels and other strategic locations like the campus of the University of Kansas.

Haiti Mission Trip - $2,500

Each year our church, in partnership with Kids Alive International, takes a mission trip to a school and children’s home in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti. These monies will help offset the costs of the trip for the ten participants in the amount of $250 each.

We are simply asking every person to consider giving as much to Jesus this Christmas as we give to everyone else! That way, He stays FIRST on our Christmas list! You will find a Christmas Impact Offering envelope enclosed for your convenience in addition to details about the offering. There will be an opportunity for you to give your special offering during the worship service on Sunday, December 16.

Please know that you are in our prayers during this time and we can’t wait to worship Jesus with you this Christmas season!

When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. (Matthew 2:10-11, NLT)

Wishing you and your family the very best this Christmas Season,

Pastor Alex
