Club 56 Sundays at 10:35: Grapple
Preteens are at a challenging stage in life. They aren’t little kids anymore, but they aren’t teens either. They are spreading their wings, learning to think for themselves, trying to figure out who they want to be, what kinds of friends they want to have and what they really believe. It’s in this transitional phase of life, that kids begin to make critical decisions in life that significantly shape their teen years.
In our Sunday morning Club 56 program, preteens will get to tackle the tough questions they are asking, dig into the real-life issues they are dealing with and discover what God’s Word has to say about them. They will rotate among three broad monthly themes. One month they will focus on a question dealing with relationships. The next month they’ll discuss a faith question and the third month they’ll grapple with a question about choices.
This fall, students will cover these topics:
Relationship Theme: Why can’t we all just get along?
Lesson 1: Why do my parents always say no?
Lesson 2: Why can’t we all just get along?
Lesson 3: Why can’t I be an only child?
Lesson 4: Why do I have to sit in the backseat?
Faith Theme: Who is Jesus?
Lesson 5: What if Jesus is a liar?
Lesson 6: What if Jesus is a lunatic?
Lesson 7: What if Jesus is a loser?
Lesson 8: What if Jesus is Lord?
Choices Theme: Kids just want to have fun
Lesson 9: Why can’t I go to PG-13 movies?
Lesson 10: What would Jesus play on his ipod?
Lesson 11: Is God a party pooper?
Lesson 12: Can being a Christian ever be fun?
Club 56 Wednesdays at 6:30: Truth Seekers
Starting September 7, 2011, Club 56 will join our 4th graders on Wednesday nights to be a part of Truth Seekers, our discipleship program for 4th – 6th graders. Truth Seekers will help children explore their faith in Christ more seriously as they focus more directly on the truths of the faith. This three-year program will help children discover how to connect with Christ and His church, how to grow in Christ, how to serve Christ and how to share Christ. Children will be given an opportunity to develop deep, consistent relationships with their peers, leaders and with God.
