December Haiti Team, Wednesday, December 9th, 2015
We spent the morning finishing the painting of the transitional house, and moved some dirt and rocks around the foundation. Then we went on a walk through the local community around Kids Alive, where we visited a woman who was the mother of some of the Kids Alive children. She had grown up in a house that her father built out of sticks and mud, with a sheet metal roof. She told us that it had collapsed once in a hurricane, but they had rebuilt it. It was sad to see so many people living in poor conditions.
In the afternoon, we went to the property next to the Kids Alive campus and saw the construction site where they are building a church, and we began cleaning up around a new boys house that was under construction at the far end of that property. Please pray that we are all feeling well, and that we are able to get lots of work accomplished.
