Worship setlists and NWLC15 coming soon
Fairly often, someone comes up to me after a worship service and wants to know the name of one of the songs we've just led, so I've been thinking it might be a good idea to publish our worship set lists each week, so that people who are interested in learning the songs can know in advance what we're going to be playing, and listen ahead of time. Or, if a particular song strikes them as particularly meaningful, they can check the set list to find the name (and possibly the artist associated with the song).
It's an idea, anyway--perhaps we could even link in YouTube videos (seems like most worship songs end up on YouTube eventually, anyway). We'll see if there's really time in the schedule to make this happen.
We're headed off to Leawood for the National Worship Leader Conference next week (I and three members of my team, including two members of the praise band and our primary sound tech). I always look forward to this conference, and I'm so grateful that it has been held nearby for the last few years (just 45 minutes away). The downside is that it's so close--there is something pretty cool about traveling to a far-away city for an event like this. The separation from life at home can be helpful; when I'm driving back and forth each day, I'm saving tons of money that would otherwise be spent on hotel accommodations, but each evening life rushes back in, it seems, in ways that it doesn't when you've made a long trip to a conference. That's not really a complaint, just an observation.
If possible, I'll try to post an update now and then from the conference (yeah, I've said that before).
