The new school has been dedicated!
We just received word that the new school building that our teams have worked on for the last two Haiti trips was dedicated on January 14, and classes began there on Monday (Jan. 15)! We also know now that work has already begun on laying out the foundation for the new dining hall, which we will be working on when we arrive in Haiti next week (Jan. 27-Feb. 3).
This school will allow Kids Alive to expand the number of students they can serve, and it will allow them to extend the grade levels they can accommodate. The school serves not only the children who live in the Kids Alive Children's Village, but also many more children who live in the surrounding area, which is among the poorest sectors of the city of Cap Haitien.
We are excited to see the new school in person--all of us on this year's team have worked on this project--and we promise there will be more photos! (Thanks to Brian Veen and Randy Hall of Kids Alive for these two pictures.) Thank you so much for your interest in Haiti and for your support through prayer and other ways for our team.
We hope you will follow our team's progress here, and we also hope you'll pray for our team as we prepare for this trip, as we travel, and each day while we are there.
