Meet the LFMC Staff
Bill Bump
Senior Pastor
Before joining us at LFMC in August 2002, Bill served at Seattle First Free Methodist Church, Wheaton Free Methodist Church, Elgin Free Methodist Church, Eastside Free Methodist Church and TimberLake Christian Fellowship. He and his wife, Marcy, have three grown children: Ryan, Andrea and Brendon. They also have two grandchildren. When he's not preparing sermons or ministering, Bill likes a good game of racquetball or golf.
Rick Ostrander
Pastor of Outreach & Pastoral Care
Rick has served on staff as the Pastor of Adult Ministries since 1999. He is currently Pastor of Outreach and Pastoral Care. He holds a B.A. in Theology from Barkely College and an M.A.R. in Counseling from Western Evangelical Seminary.
Before moving to Lawrence in 1990, Rick spent 15 years in Colorado serving as the senior pastor of two Free Methodist congregations. For the past twelve years he has owned and operated an Outpatient Counseling Center in Lawrence. He and his wife Cindy have helped lead Marriage Encounter weekends with the LFMC for the past 15 years. Rick and Cindy have two grown sons.
Rick's greatest desire is to see the congregation growing into spiritual maturity and developing healthy relationships with God, others, and self in a caring church community. When not working, Rick enjoys playing racket ball and tennis.
Larry Baldridge
Pastor of Discipleship
Since 1971, Larry has been involved in discipleship-focused ministries. Before coming on staff at LFMC, he and his wife, Beth, served with The Navigators and Discipleship Outreach Ministries. They have three grown children and four grandchildren. Larry enjoys the outdoors and playing competitive tennis.
Carolyn Heacock
Pastor of Children's Ministries
Before accepting the Pastor of Children's Ministries position at LFMC, Carolyn served as our Pastor of Student Ministries for six years. She is excited to lead our growing children's ministry, which is designed to provide opportunities for children to connect with God in fun and relevant ways. She has a B.A. in Spanish and an M.A. in education, both from the University of Kansas. Prior to working in ministry full-time, she taught English as a second language at the University of Kansas for 17 years. She and her husband Doug have three children: Rebekah, Katie and Tim.
Stephen Case
Worship Leader, Traditional Service
Steve was born and raised in Colorado, and he has spent over 10 years leading worship in churches located in Florida, Illinois, and Kansas. He has a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance from the University of Northern Colorado, a BS in computer information systems from Friends University, and is currently working on an MBA degree. Steve and his wife Vicki have two children, Rebekah and Sarah.
Doug Heacock
Worship Leader, Contemporary Services
Doug has been involved with contemporary Christian music, as a solo performer and in various bands, for over 25 years. Here at LFMC he has led the Praise Band in the contemporary worship services since its inception in 2000. His passions are the worship arts ministry and teaching the Scriptures. Doug enjoys fishing, hiking, tennis, reading, writing, amateur radio, and making music. He is also honored to be the husband of Pastor Carolyn.

Laura Green
Secretary
Laura has lived in Lawrence since 1991. She's a graduate of Lawrence High and attended Ozark Christian College for 2 1/2 years. Laura married Tyler Green in August 2006. To answer everyone's questions, she says, "Married life is great, and we're waiting a year or two to start a family!" She began working at LFMC in June 2006. Her favorite part of her job is meeting new people and putting faces to names. When she's not at work, she likes to have dinner parties with her friends, attend Ugly Christmas Sweater parties, and spend time with her husband.
