Support Groups

We recognize that sometimes life takes unexpected turns. When this happens, it can be helpful to have support as you navigate the choppy waters of life.

Divorce Care

Divorce Care is led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You'll gain access to valuable DivorceCare resources to help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. Divorce Care is offered once a year starting in January. For more information, contact Susan Adams.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery group for those who desire support to overcome an addiction. The group meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. For more information, contact Pastor Rick Ostrander.

Grief/Loss

The Grief/Loss Support Group is for those who have experienced the loss of a mate, parent, child, or friend to death. This group provides a place to work through the grief of loss, with others who have experienced loss and and can provide friendship and support. Steve Satterfield is a chaplain for Hospice and is skilled in assisting people through the grief process. Groups are formed as needed. For more information, contact Steve.

Parents of Special Needs Kids

This group provides a Christian-oriented, comfortable, non-judgmental, safe place for parents of children with special needs (ADD, ADHD, Asperger's, Autism, mood disorders, developmental delays, etc.) to come together and vent, share, cry and pray. Some parents may have questions about their child/children and may not necessarily have a diagnosis, but they are struggling and need support. We offer community resources and helpful guests within the special needs community. For more information, contact Leslie Sharp.

Adoption Group

James 1:27 says, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." Sharing God's heart for orphans and adoption, one child at a time, is the purpose of our James 1:27 ministry. In addition to educating the church about orphans and adoption we also seek to support and encourage adoptive families in the church and community. If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Cherri Walrod.
