Worship Arts at LFMC
The Worship Arts ministry at LFMC encompasses music, drama, the visual arts, and the technical arts.
We currently have three worship services every Sunday--our "traditional" service is at 8:30am, and the music in that service includes a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary worship choruses, with organ and piano accompaniment (and other instruments on occasion). The Adult Choir sings at most services.
The contemporary services are held at 9:45am and 11:15am, and the music in these services is contemporary in style and instrumentation--the Praise Band includes guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, and occasionally other instruments, including flute, violin, cello, and other percussion. We usually have multiple vocalists.
All three services occasionally include brief dramatic sketches or video.
There are many opportunities for volunteers in all of these areas. Both vocalists and instrumentalists are needed in all three services, and in the children's and youth ministry programs. Actors are also needed from time to time, along with people to assist with stagecraft.
In addition, many volunteers are required to provide media-related services (sound, lights, screen images and video, etc.)
Anyone who is interested in serving in any aspect of the worship arts ministry should contact the church office. An application form is provided for those who have an interest in the worship music ministries.
